MINUTES
PARISH LIFE COMMISSION
July 17, 2008
The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Conference Room. Bridget Womack said an opening prayer. Chairman, Sue Wachowiak, opened the meeting and welcomed all.
Sue said that we received positive comments about the recent Parish Picnic. John Rigoni’s sound equipment worked very well for Bingo. We had plenty of cakes for the cake raffle – 16! Sue will let us know how much money was made at the next meeting. We will keep the format the same. Next year, the picnic will be held on Sunday, June 30th so the Cancer Walk will not be in conflict.
The Polka Mass & Dance will be Saturday, October 18th. The Jeff Winard Band has been booked and paid for. We will set up for 200 people as last time.
Cost will be $20 as last time. Wine & beer $2 and water $1. Ron Kantola will get the sausage, Pat Goodman & Sue will get the sauerkraut. We will have boiled, parsley potatoes and rye bread. Mary Bolin says she has people to help with making perogies. She will talk to Pat Goodman also. We will need servers to help distribute the food. The Men’s Club will provide bartenders and get the liquor license. We will need people to collect tickets in the hallway outside Hunter Hall and selling tickets after Masses. Notices will be put in area church bulletins as well as St. Dismas. We will have sign up sheets available.
It was suggested that we purchase cookies/brownies at Sam’s and make it easy for people.
Father Ryan suggested that Butch be given a diagram of how we want the tables placed and we will use tablecloths.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008.
All joined hands and prayed the “Our Father”. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Rita Heinz, Secretary
